Digital Terrain Model

MAVCON employs a service for our clients we call AutoDTM (Digital Terrain Model). This technology gives MAVCON the capability to locate site elevations and critical data precisely and quickly.

AutoDTM is a digital terrain model (DTM) running inside AutoCAD. It has the capability to calculate the volume of cut and fill, and create the profile and cross section plot from a given alignment.

Three categories are provided in the module: AutoDTM, AutoXSections and AutoProfile.

AutoDTM:
This category contains the commands to compute the cut and fill volumes for a given site. After both the existing and proposed terrains are defined by two sets of points. AutoDTM will determine the volumetric difference between the two surfaces. Consideration is given to surface loss, shrinkage and swelling of the materials.

The areas of cut and fill are displayed in different colors. The earthwork volume for each grid cell can be displayed on the screen. A complete report for the entire site or specified sub-area can be generated.

AutoXSections:
This category contains the commands to create cross section plots and generate the cross section report. After the alignment is defined. AutoXSections will cut across sections along the alignment at specified intervals.

AutoProfile:
This category contains the commands to create a profile plot along the alignment.
